The Righteous Voice

Going in front of His people

“And you shall know today that יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim is He who is passing over before you as a consuming fire – He does destroy them and subdue them before you. So you shall dispossess them and destroy them quickly, as יהוה {Jehovah} has said to you.” (Deuteronomium 9:3 The Scriptures 1998+)

Today we too should know this: Jehovah, should be our God, in whom we are willing to trust and give us in His hands. We should allow Him to carry us ‘over the river’, the difficult situations, crossing the river ahead of us. The world has to know He is a consuming fire which can destroy unbelievers or enemies from before us (Deuteronomy 31:3). If we are not careful He will destroy the nations, He will put them under the power of those He want. God established Him a People to himself.

“10 All of you are standing today before יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim: your leaders, your tribes, your elders and your officers, all the men of Yisra’ĕl, 11 your little ones, your wives, and your sojourner who is in the midst of your camp, from the one who cuts your wood to the one who draws your water, 12 so that you should enter into covenant with יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim, and into His oath, which יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim makes with you today, 13 in order to establish you today as a people for Himself, and He Himself be your Elohim, as He has spoken to you, and as He has sworn to your fathers, to Aḇraham, to Yitsḥaq, and to Yaʽaqoḇ. ” (Deuteronomium 29:10-13 The Scriptures 1998+)

The men of God wrote down the history of the people of God, so that the folks could remember everything that God did for them. We can still read that history in the different Bible books.

We can encounter many different characters who reacted in different ways. Their good deeds but also their faults were notated in the books. The writers themselves even did not hide the things they did wrong. They did not disguise what they did so that they would look better. God did not allow a camouflage in His Word the Holy Scripture. All people can find the facts and happenings like they happened.

The treaty  God made with His people was not a secret pact. Everybody can read about it and can know what is written in it and why God does react in a certain way. Everybody can learn from the Law of God and use those instructions God has given. Everybody may also learn from the reactions others made on the events that happened around the people of God.

All the different figures spoken of in the Holy Scriptures are characterized and presented to us so that we could learn from them. They should be thoroughly examined. If he is a righteous person, we should ask ourselves if our traits and our actions match up to his. If he is a wicked person, we should examine ourselves again, just as carefully, and we should very severely scrutinize our actions — not covering up the faults we find, but bringing them out in the open. The Bible is the only book whose pages are “mirrors” (James 1:23)! With our natural eye we look outward; with our spiritual eye we look inward.”Lord, is it I?”

“Because if anyone is a hearer of the Word and not a doer, he is like a man who looks at his natural face in a mirror,” (James 1:23 The Scriptures 1998+)

How often we read of the Jews in the wilderness and we shake our heads sadly (perhaps with a measure of self-righteousness) that they could have sunk so deeply into iniquity, “They could not follow God even when they saw miracles before their eyes every day.” But we should never read of others and feel superior because of their failures. Wewho think we stand — should take heed lest we fall. They had a fire by night and a cloud by day, but we have a moon by night and a sun by day — greater miracles! They saw God’s hand working daily in the provision of manna and water. “What a great privilege,” we think to ourselves, forgetting that we see God’s hand working daily in the Middle East and throughout the earth. Who really is the most favoured? Who has the least excuse to fail?

As we read the Bible let us look for reasons behind each act, as well as for facts. We will find the characters to be surprisingly human, and prone to the same faults as we are. But we will also find that they were able to “move mountains” with their faith in God. So why cannot we do the same? Their examples of faith are for our encouragement, and the failures of some (including some of the righteous) are for our warning.

Jehovah Author of Bible

Looking at them we should also notice how God was always in front of them, always nearby and ready to come into action. We also can see how God showed Himself prepared to listen to them and to please them if necessary. But going in front of them this would not mean that people should bow down in front of statues made out of any earthy material to represent the Almighty God. God is willing to give His ear, without that people would cry to graven images. They can talk straight to Him, Elohim Jehovah always knowing that they should not have any other gods beside Him.

“1 and god spoke all these words, saying, 2 I [am] Jehovah your god, who has brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. 3 you shall have no other gods before me. 4 you shall not make to yourselves any graven image, or any likeness of [anything] that [is] in the heavens above, or that [is] in the earth beneath, or that [is] in the water under the earth. 5 you shall not bow yourself down to them, nor serve them. for I Jehovah your god [am] a jealous god, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the sons to the third and fourth [generation] of those that hate me,” (Exodus 20:1-5 MKJV)

1  And Elohim spoke all these Words, saying, 2  “I am יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Mitsrayim, out of the house of slavery. 3 “You have no other mighty ones against My face. 4  “You do not make for yourself a carved image, or any likeness of that which is in the heavens above, or which is in the earth beneath, or which is in the waters under the earth, 5  you do not bow down to them nor serve them. For I, יהוה {Jehovah} your Elohim am a jealous Ěl, visiting the crookedness of the fathers on the children to the third and fourth generations of those who hate Me, 6  but showing kindness to thousands, to those who love Me and guard My commands. (Exodus 20:1-6 The Scriptures 1998+)

“7 O god, when you marched before your people, when you walked through the wilderness; Selah. 8 the earth shook, the heavens also dropped at the presence of god; Sinai itself [was moved] at the presence of god, the god of Israel.” (Psalms 68:7-8 MKJV)

” (7)  O Elohim, when You went out before Your people, When You stepped through the wilderness, Selah.  (8)  The earth shook and the heavens dropped before Elohim, This Sinai, shook before Elohim, the Elohim of Yisra’ĕl.” (Psalm 68:7-8 The Scriptures 1998+)

God will always in front of His people, never forsaking them.

  • Why Is God’s Name Missing From Many Bibles ? (researchsupportsthetruth.wordpress.com)
There are many different reasons why God’s name
was removed from the Bible.  I will attempt to
    briefly discuss them here.
    +
“…the suppression of The Name (Jehovah) has entailed upon the reader, and especially upon the hearer, irreparable loss… its suppression was a  MISTAKE…”
    –Rotherham, 1, Ch. IV, 22-29
    +
The Jewish God of the Jewish Messiah    was hated and despised by the Greeks and Romans.
When Christianity became a State Religion of Rome –    All attempts to blot out the Hebrew origins of Jesus    were employed – and Removing God’s Name from the Bible was a major attempt to obscure Jesus’ Jewish heritage.
    +
When Rome voted to adopt the Trinity doctrine of the numerous Pagans in her empire – The Name of God – YHWH (translated Jehovah in English) – interfered and hindered the Newly Adopted teaching That Jesus was the Almighty God – Jehovah.
Rome paid her translators to remove God’s name almost Seven Thousand Times (7,000) from the Bible.
    +
Because the God of Christ – The Jewish God, Jehovah, was not popular with the world of mankind, they sought to remove him from their Bibles.  Bible translators knew that for their Bibles to be purchased they would need to appeal to their readers.  They also knew, that if they used God’s Divine Name Jehovah, then people would not purchase their Version and thus
    they would lose money.
    +
Will God’s People Be Stumbled By The Name Of Jehoshua?

The sudden realization that Christ’s true name was never “Jesus”, but rather Jehoshua, has
been shocking to learn.  Some will welcome this truth, while others will become angry and be
stumbled by it.  How so ?
    +
Since Jehovah’s Salvation – called “Jehoshua” is what Christ wants to be called, we should take his request very seriously.  It is not a matter of holding onto tradition, or a matter of pleasing
those who find the erroneous name “Jesus” to be so dear to their heart.  No, it is a matter of “Truth”. Jehoshua came to the earth to bring mankind back to truth.  Not to be molded into a god that mankind thinks he should be.  Jehoshua was sent by Jehovah God, to bring mankind back to him.  Christ had an objective of turning the Israel of God back to truth again.
    +
the trading of Christ’s true name for a Graeco-Roman god named “Zeus”.  It is not by sheer accident that Christ’s name sounds like “G-Zeus”.
It was intended that way.  History books admit that the Romans intentionally traded the true name of “Jehoshua” for the “Iesous” (hail zeus) of pagan origin and pagan appeal.

  • What Sabbath Should You Keep? (illustrationstoencourage.wordpress.com)
In arranging for his people to have a Sabbath, Jehovah God was acting in their interest. It gave all the people, including slaves, and even the domestic animals, a period of needed rest and refreshment. Additionally, the Sabbath was to remind the Israelites of what the Most High had done in liberating them from Egyptian bondage.
    +
Though commanding his people to keep the Sabbath, Jehovah God was more interested in their heart appreciation for the arrangement than in a perfunctory observance of a day. This he made plain through his prophet Isaiah in these words: “If in view of the sabbath you will turn back your foot as regards doing your own delights on my holy day, and will actually call the sabbath an exquisite delight, a holy day of Jehovah, one being glorified, and will actually glorify it rather than doing your own ways, rather than finding what delights you and speaking a word; you will in that case find your exquisite delight in Jehovah.”—Isa. 58:13, 14.
Note that what pleased the Most High God was not a mere refraining from work. Rather, it was a matter of setting aside the day as especially devoted to him, and, hence, concentrating on spiritual matters. The Israelites were to refrain from following their own selfish pursuits and were to find delight or pleasure in doing God’s will.
    +
according to the testimony of Scripture, only the Israelites were commanded to keep the seventh day as a Sabbath. This Sabbath observance served as a sign of the covenant between Israel and Jehovah God. With Jesus Christ’s fulfilling the Law, Sabbath keeping was not imposed anew on his followers. (Rom. 7:4-6) However, by refraining from making selfish pursuits the focal point of their lives, Christians demonstrate that they recognize the importance of using their time to honor the Creator. Each day they should strive to follow God’s way, proving that they are finding pleasure in him.
