Atonement And Fellowship 1/8

Atonement is the act of atoning or to reconcile. Especially we mean the reconciliation, or calling together, of God and man by means of the birth and death of Christ Jesus. To atone also means to make at one or to give satisfaction or make reparation. To make up for deficiencies and to agree or to be in accordance.  It also means to appease and to expiate: to harmonise or reconcile. {Chambers 20th Century dictionary}.

As you can see the word includes the restoration or bringing back. Jesus (Jeshua) had to bring back the people into the old form like it was at the beginning in the Garden of Eden. He had to restore the friendship between God and men. To reconcile is also to bring back in union or in unity, to bring to agreement or contentment. But also to pacify and to make or to prove consistent. {Chambers 20th Century dictionary}
As such Jesus came on to the earth to bring people back into peace with the Creator and to admit or restore to the membership of Gods community, which we call today commonly, the Church.

With having “Fellowship” we look at the state of being a fellow or partner, a friendly intercourse or communion, an association or an endowment in a society, college or group. To become a fellow their should be a form of agreement to form a counterpart but also a like, an associate, companion and equal. Without the will to be on the same grounds no fellowship can be formed.

When Jesus walked around people could come up into the hills and listen to him. After Jesus had left this earth the disciples continued to gather in houses and public places. They tried to get Jesus his message across to as many people as possible. This message bringing they wanted to do in peace, showing that the followers of Christ where like loving brethren and sisters. For them it was important to show the world that all people in the world were now under the spell of Jesus his death. Everybody could receive the saving by grace.

But to be really fall under the salvation, people have to make choices which shall have an important impact on their life. To come under the Grace of Salvation they shall have to be humble to recognise their faults. We may not deceive ourselves. all those who want to follow Christ Jesus the Messiah do have to step out of the dark of this world. They can not stay on their own but should come together and unite with other followers of Christ. It is together that we do have to experience a shared life with one another, as the sacrificed blood of Jesus, God’s Son, purges all our sin. If we claim that we’re free of sin, we’re only fooling ourselves. A claim like that is errant nonsense.

“7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Yahshua the Messiah his Son cleanses us from all sin. 8  If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:7-8 KJBPNV)

  I have learned more about the Atonement. I know that to receive the full blessings of the Atonement, that I have to pray to apply the Atonement to my life.   Before Jesus came, God set up a system in ancient Israel where the sacrifices of animals were required payment for the atonement of sins and a gesture of worship towards Him .

  The blood of those specifically chosen animals, “paid for” if you will and covered the sins of the people of Israel so that they could have a relationship with God and not be destroyed by his wrath.  Instead of seeing their sin and destroying the people, God saw the pure blood of those sacrifices and granted the sinner pardon.  The blood of those animals served as the buffer between Israel and the judgement and wrath of God. That sacrificial system was the foreshadowing of what Jesus would ultimately do on the cross.
