Atonement and the race been bought

In the previous articles we have seen how important it is to belong to a community which is under Christ, who was “raised again for our justification” (Romans 4: 25).

In our hope in that one man from Nazareth who was willing put his will aside for only following that what God wanted him to do, we can see the man by whom remission of sin, and absolving from guilt comes over humankind.

This justification does not exactly signify to make holy, but rather the holding and declaring of one to be free from guilt. It is an act of God’s free grace, in which He pardons all our sins, and accepts us as righteous in His sight; righteousness being imputed to us in Christ, and received by faith.

We all need justifying, because none of us can of himself be justified or stand acquitted before God; as it is written, “For all have sinned,” and “There is none righteous, no, not one.” (Romans 5: 12; 3: 10, 23.)

“Wherefore as by one man sin entered into the worlde, and death by the means of sin. And so death went over all men, insomuch that all men sinned.” (Romans 5:12 WTNT)

“as it is written: There is none righteous, no not one:” (Romans 3:10 WTNT)

“For there is no difference, all have sinned, and lack the praise that is of valour before God:” (Romans 3:23 WTNT)

As sinners we were under the sentence of death by the righteous law of God, and excluded from hope, as the Scripture
says; “having no hope, and without God in the world.”— Ephesians 2:v12.

“Remember I say, that ye were at that time without Christ, and were reputed aliens from the common wealth of Israhel, and were fremed from the testaments of promise, and had no hope, and were without God in this world.” (Ephesians 2:12 WTNT)

ANGELICO, Fra Resurrection of Christ and Women...

In this justification brought about on account of the resurrection of Jesus Christ there is the most wonderful display of divine justice and boundless grace. It was that resurrection which changed the course of history, and it is still the centrepiece of the Christian faith. This resurrection is the defining moment for all people. With it they should come to see how God His promise was fulfilled in Christ Jesus and how God accepted it and was willing to take up his only begotten beloved son.   If Christ did not rise from the dead we are fools, but the resurrection of Jesus Christ demands that we re-examine the way that we look at everything.

God appoints the way, provides the means, and imputes the righteousness. Jesus died to redeem the race, but this does not meet all requirements. By this redemption or ransom price of his blood the race has been bought, as we read in 1 Corinthians 6: 20 — For ye are bought with a price; therefore glorify God in your body.” We were not redeemed with silver or gold, the usual things given as a ransom price, but with a far greater price — the precious blood of Christ.

We may not forget what it really signified for the son of Miriam (Mary) to leave his mother in anxiety and bringing much pain to her. But he felt he had a task which he had to bring to a good end. He was not placed on this earth in a special way, just to please his mother and his family. He also was not there for only his people, the Jews. They had enough previous writings to come to get to recognise him, but they did not and rejected him as the Messiah. By this they made their own choice, like we too have to make our own choice. Jesus came to give himself a ransom for many. The moving
cause of this redemption is the love of God, the procurer of it Jesus Christ. The world has only to see it and has to accept Jesus as the Messiah.

“God so loved the world, that he gave his only son for the intent, that none that believe in him, should perish: But should have everlasting life.” (John 3:16 WTNT)

“18 For as much as ye know how that ye were not redeemed with corruptible gold and silver from your vain conversation, which ye received by the traditions of the fathers: 19 but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb undefiled, and without spot,” (1 Peter 1:18-19 WTNT)

“Even as the son of man came, not to be ministered unto, but to minister: and to give his life for the redemption of many.” (Matthew 20:28 WTNT)

We have the mind of Christ. … I can’t truly comprehend the magnitude of what that means. But here’s a thought: having the promised mind of Jesus Christ will make the meaning clear to me.

He humbled Himself by being obedient to death, death on the cross. That is why God exalted Him and gave Him the Name which outshines all names, so that at the Name of Jesus all knees should bend in heaven, on earth and among the dead, and all tongues proclaim that, Christ Jesus is the Lord to the glory of God the Father.

  • Confidence and Assurance (mydelightandmycounsellors.wordpress.com) >Confidence and Assurance
Confidence and assurance of salvation is never self-righteous presumption when our confidence and assurance is in the Lord Jesus Christ and based upon HIS great work of redemption to put away our sins by the sacrifice of Himself.

Is it anything other than Christ’s righteousness imputed? There is no one and nothing else to accomplish the great work of our salvation. Our whole existence as sinners saved by the grace of God is owing to Jesus Christ as the Lord our Righteousness. He alone is our Surety, therefore, true godly assurance and confidence can only come to a sinner who is looking unto Jesus as the Author and Finisher of his faith. Anything more is a denial of Christ and His righteousness. Anything less is the dark despair of fallen humanity.
  • Blessed With Every Spiritual Blessing (burningfireshutinmybones.wordpress.com)
God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, has blessed us (Us, meaning we, His followers), with Every (Every means All) spiritual blessing in the heavenly realms, because we are united with Christ. Does that excite you? It excites me! Just think about it, those of us who are born again believers, have Already been blessed with these blessings, but sadly, many believers don’t even know this.
